Another art challenge–to lift a design element from another artist’s work with lots of white space. So for mine, I did the sea and magic/fairies because I love all of them. It’s hard for me to leave a lot of white space, but it’s so pretty when I do.
Okay, I’m now off to feed the birds and make more magic by writing more on the story! I’m up to 57K! Hope to have 67K by Sunday!
Readers of Christine Feehan, Patricia Briggs, and Nalini Singh will love USA Today bestselling author Terry Spear’s thrilling, sexy paranormal shifter romance full of action, adventure, mystery, and passion.

No one should have been in her room, and now she suspected the key-card noise she’d heard just minutes earlier had been the real deal. Who the hell had a key to her room? Whoever it was didn’t say a word. The scary part was that even though he had to hear her showering, he ignored it, like he knew he was safe, that she couldn’t harm him. And that made her angry. And even more worried.
She quickly washed the soap out of her hair and off her face and body and left the water running. Her phone was sitting on the bedside table, so she couldn’t reach it to call the police. She didn’t have a weapon… Well, maybe not a gun or knife, but she did have a different kind of weapon. One she was born with. It would have to do.
She called on her wolf, heat rushing through every bone and through every muscle. Confronting a human like this wasn’t something wolves would normally do when they were taught to hide their identity at all costs from humans. But the intruder couldn’t see her shift and she was afraid—since he was bold enough to remain there when she was taking a shower—she could be in a world of hurt if she didn’t do something to protect herself.
As soon as she had turned into a big red wolf with big ears, big teeth, and big wolf paws, she pushed the shower curtain aside with her nose, leaped out of the tub, slid on the bath mat, and tore out of the bathroom and into the room. As soon as the man saw movement, turned, and noticed her coming at him, the would-be thief jumped straight into the air. He cried out with a strangled sound and made a dash for the door.
That was what she liked to see. Him scared to pieces and running for his life. Though her own heart was beating triple time, the adrenaline surging through her blood preparing her to flee or fight. Fighting was more what she had in mind.
Imagine him thinking he was robbing a defenseless human but suddenly was faced with a snarling wolf!

Hawk fae Ariana is a guard for the royal family, a highly coveted position, and one she has worked hard at, but on one trip to the human world to have fun in the sun with her friend, she makes the mistake of saving a couple of children from drowning in the Gulf of Mexico. Now she’s living in a new world with the Angel Corp in the angel realm of existence, and she’s required to save both humans and fae alike. Before she has gotten her feet wet on the easier assignments, she’s stuck with the really dangerous stuff. But she can’t die, can she? She has already done that once. But she wants to return to the fae world—the living fae world—in any way that she can.
Malik was supposed to have been Ariana’s guardian angel but when he saw another human struggling in the riptide, he went to save him, thinking that Ariana was going to be just fine. Now he is her mentor in the Angel Corp, when he’d always wanted to get to know her better while they’d both been of the fae world. This situation of her wanting to return as a fae is a deadly business. But if she manages to do so safely, she’ll leave him behind. Now she’s working on all dangerous missions and he’s afraid he’ll lose her for good. Still, helping her to return to the fae world of the living isn’t in the plans.
I’ve had so much fun writing about the fae so I’m glad to finally have this one ready for everyone who is following the mischievous fae in The World of Fae series. I also finished final print proofreading of Dawn of the Jaguar and so it’s ready for preorders. It’s coming out on Tuesday, November 30th!
Erin Chambers is leaving the FBI to join her father in his Big Cat Investigative Agency. She loved her job, but she wants to be closer to her father and have more freedom to run as a jaguar shifter when she can. But she knows dealing with her dad’s sole private investigator, Jason Biggerstaff, is going to take some work. He’s a hot jaguar and turns up the heat whenever he’s around her without any effort at all, to her consternation. But he’s not fond of the FBI, and she and he butt heads all the time. He’s been like a son to her father, so she knows he was thinking he could take over the business one day. That’s not happening.
Jason Biggerstaff is busy with investigations, not thrilled that Erin is joining the agency, but all that changes when they are embroiled in missing kids’ cases, their usual run-of-the-mill investigations, and she’s really good at her job. No matter how much he fights the attraction he has for her, it’s a losing battle. What starts out as just them handling their usual cases, turns into something worse—a snow leopard shifter in trouble and they must save him without landing themselves in a worse mess than they already are, which includes dealing with this growing need to take their relationship to something they never bargained for.
I was up at o-dark thirty again this morning. Too many irons in the fire, so trying to get a couple of them done so I can do the others. I finished uploading the updated version of Darkland Elf, just finished creating the print cover. It can take a few days for the uploads to show up, but, I’m thrilled that’s done.
Next on my list: A United Shifted Force, need to format it for the anthology, write blurb, etc.
I also am working on: Bear in Mind (needs another 50K), Angel Fae (needs another 30K), Dawn of the Jaguar (novella, needs another 17K), Bite of the Vampire (needs another 30K), Night of the Vampire (needs another 40K) , Warrior Elf (needs another 40K). All of these have covers, so I’m off the hook on that.
So if I look at it that way, I should finish up the jaguar novella. None of these are on deadline, and the thing of it is I need to write the book that is calling to me. So first I have to read what I’ve written and then if one of them is screaming, “I have another scene, write me!” I’ll start there.
If none of them do, I might pull out one of my finished books and get back to revising. They’ve never been published, but hopefully, they will one of these days. And that’s how I take my break!
Tomorrow we’re supposed to have cooler weather. I can’t wait!
So when a lovely fan and friend of mine sent me an article about a rare white cougar, I knew that I had to write the cougar’s story. And since I’ve been writing a Halloween shifter story each year, this is the one for this year! Maybe next year I can write a wolf’s Halloween story.
Saving the White Cougar–September 1, 2021
Stella White never believed that going on a cougar run would be such a dangerous excursion, painful, punishing, and pleasurable in the end. She realized that sometimes she just needed to get through the bad stuff to get to the good stuff and that meant meeting Ted Weekum, ranch foreman, and the kind of cowboy she’d only dreamed of.
Ted Weekum was visiting with his brother at the ranch when he thought he saw a white flash of fur, but it wasn’t until hunters started shooting up the place, claiming they’d shot a white cougar did the notion sink in that the cougar could be one of their own shifter kind. But a white cougar? Unheard of. And yet when he went to save her life—that’s exactly what he found. A rare white cougar. Unclaimed. Unmated. The right age. The stars had aligned right that night.
But the hunters aren’t through with hunting down the wounded white cougar, or Stella White.
Master baker Ava Lamar has one mission in mind after baking tons of treats for the Fourth of July celebration in Yuma Town—swimming at Lake Buchanan on this hot summer’s day. What she doesn’t expect is to be saddled with running the fortune telling booth—using her real psychic abilities—and giving a hot, bachelor cougar a place to stay for the whole weekend.
Cougar Shifter Force Special Agent Chet Kensington has just finished a tough mission, been chewed up a bit by rogue cougars, and he’s taking a break to be with his old team, but he has no place to stay, everything being booked up in Yuma Town for the big cougar celebration. When Ava reluctantly allows him to stay with her, he finds himself drawn to her the whole celebration long.
But back home in Wyoming, things are getting out of hand. A serial killer is murdering female cougars and he and some of his old team have to find him, pronto. The problem is all the trouble leads right back to Ava—and now he has to do his best to keep her safe before the killer adds her to his list of victims.
As a motivational inspirer, Eloria’s mission is to convince her friend Persephonice to leave the elf world behind. She knows that if she can’t, she will be stuck in their world herself. But what she finds in the primitive elf world is magic and a connection she never thought possible.
Viator is a prince of the darkland elves and captures one of those extraordinary creatures like Persephonice to turn over to his father, but his people worry about the prophecy where a girl from another world would take over their kingdom. He’s not giving her up as he realizes he needs her to help fulfill his mission to make his wings transparent. And she has to see where his dangerous quests will take them both…if they can survive the trials.
